The dog Max seemed depressed and Maureen couldn’t figure out why until she went to see the doctor.
Dogs are wonderful animals for many reasons. They are loyal, friendly and loving and will be there for their owners in times of trouble and trouble. But there are also some biological aspects that set dogs apart from other species.
Compared to humans, dogs have a better sense of smell. For example, dogs might smell something in the refrigerator before you open it. They know when to reward the dog because they can sense where the food is.
Turns out dogs can smell more than just food. Proof of this is a red collie named Max.
Max enjoyed playing with his owner Maureen. Both will venture out for a walk, which will always be a fun and engaging experience for the dog.
However, one day, he started behaving strangely. He always looks sad and has no energy.
At the time, Maureen didn’t know what to do. He refused to sit on her lap. Max is no longer excited when they go out for a walk. He just looked at her with sad eyes and tapped her chest with his nose.
Just as she was about to give up on Max, she realized what he was trying to tell her. She immediately contacted her doctor to check for a small lump in her chest.
When the results of the mammogram came in, Maureen was a little confused. The doctor said that everything is normal. One day, after seeing Max’s eyes, she knew it was cancer.
Although initial tests were negative, a surgical biopsy helped diagnose her disease.
After the tumor was removed, Max immediately transformed into his old self. Thanks to the power of the nose, the worst that could have happened was averted.
However, it’s not just Max who has a special ability for his nose. Today, more and more dogs are being trained to detect cancer cells. So if you have dogs, be grateful and take good care of them. You never know, one day, they might be the ones to save your life.
Max is really a great dog that has helped his owner with such a great job. Thanks to Max’s nose, he and Maureen had many happy years together.
