SOME of the UK’s most unpopular jobs come with hefty paychecks every month, and you don’t even need a degree.
Less interest in the roles means job seekers are likely to be more successful as there are fewer contenders for each job.

All these unpopular jobs do not require a degree
Many of the most unpopular jobs pay more than the average advertised salary of £37,697, data from career search engine Adzuna showed.
The site looked at more than a million job vacancies to find out which jobs were asking the least interest, and found that 20 of them didn’t require a degree.
Many of the roles could be great options for workers in similar industries or those looking for a career change, according to Adzuna.
And at the top of the list is tax specialist where workers can earn a tidy £55,000.
As the name suggests, you’ll need some training to work in the role, but you can start as an apprentice – and going to university isn’t a requirement.
Taxes are an area that turns many off, but for workers with a good grasp of the numbers, it could be more interesting than many assume.
An apprenticeship route is also one way to become an audit professional, which can earn a salary in excess of £44,000.
Or you could earn around £50,000 working as a building or quantity surveyor – both positions are open to learning on the job through apprentice schemes.
You can also expect to earn at least £33,000 as a lettings manager or sales negotiator, and no formal qualifications are required to apply for these roles.
If you prefer the sound of hands-on work, on-the-job training can launch a career as a gas or air conditioning engineer.
Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna, says: “Job seekers are increasingly prioritizing culture, values and work-life balance.
“Even if a job offers an attractive salary, if it doesn’t provide a sustainable work environment, flexibility and room for growth, job seekers look elsewhere.
“This has led to growing skills shortages in areas such as property, health and care and education and childcare.
“But it also creates an opportunity for job seekers.
“These are also jobs with the lowest competition for roles, meaning they could be excellent options for those looking for fast career progression, high salaries and greater job security.”
