Alice Hart’s Lost Flowers, a seven-part television miniseries, will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, August 4, 2023. This suspenseful episode is based on Holly Ringland’s book of the same name. It follows the escape of a young girl who uncovers terrible mysteries in her family’s mysterious history. Sigourney Weaver, Asher Keddie, Leah Purcell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Frankie Adams, Alexander England, Charlie Vickers, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Sebastián Zurita, Alyla Browne and Xavier Samuel star in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. Several popular characters will also return in supporting/recurring roles throughout the series.

The trailer tells the story of the main character Alice Hart (Alycia Debnam-Carey). She lives with her grandmother June Hart (Sigourney Weaver) when her parents tragically die in a house fire. As the years passed, Alice went from a small child to an adult lady. However, Alice needs answers to questions she has about her bad past. She leaves her grandmother’s house in search of them, eventually uncovering some terrifying truths about the strange family and her origins. The story is set in Australia, where Holly Ringland, author of Alice Hart’s Lost Flowers, grew up.
Holly Ringland detailed the process of writing the novel in an interview with Absolutely Anything. She also talked about how her friend Kate Gray helped her out.
Ringland said,
“I graduated in 2011, but it took me three and a half years to start writing Lost Flowers.” So there were a lot of stumbles. I felt like I was wobbling, trying to regain my balance. Kate Grey, a great friend and American writer, was one of the people who got me back on track.”
She then explains what her book means to her.
“Writing Lost Flowers is about defining the truth of my experiences, through Alice Hart’s story of what it is like to have a wild imagination and emotions that seem to swallow you up.” she said.
She continued to say,
“And what it feels like to live with a trauma beyond words that cast a long shadow over your life, and how beautiful life is when we ask for help, when we allow people to love ourselves and that we can be more than what everyone else has done for us.” emotional truths I discovered.”
