End of midnight study explained
The ending of Midnight Studio shows Seo Ki-joo (played by Joo Won) returning from the underground after facing challenges and making a difficult decision. In the last episode, he goes to the underworld to lift the curse and save his girlfriend, Han Bom (Kwon Nara). Along the way, he encounters dangerous spirits and must fight to protect himself and the camera that holds the key to breaking the curse.
During his journey, Seo Ki-joo meets a ghost named Im Yoon-hae, who helps him find the door back to the world of the living. Yoon-hae tells Ki-joo that he can leave the underworld if he chooses. Eventually, Ki-joo decides to return to the real world, leaving the camera underground.
Back in the real world, Han Bom and the others anxiously await Ki-jo’s return. However, a year passes and there is no sign of him. Han Bom, devastated by her loss, finds comfort in the company of Ji-won and assistant Go, who develop a romantic relationship.
In touching fashion, Ki-joo miraculously returns through the portal to the world of the living, guided by Yoon-hae. He reunites with Han Bom and they express their love for each other. The series ends with a touching moment when one last picture is taken with her friends before Ki-joo tells how she can’t go back to the midnight studio anymore, embracing her human life with Han Bom.
