The repair shop will be welcoming three famous faces to the barn in the upcoming new series, coming to BBC One on June 7.
Children’s author Michael Rosen will appear as a guest in the new season, bringing an important documentary on the Covid pandemic to the panel of experts in an episode about the NHS.

The former children’s prize winner and bestselling author of Let’s Go Bear Hunting became seriously ill with coronavirus during the pandemic and was in a coma for 40 days. His care records, which are kept by NHS staff and are the only documents he has since that time, will be converted by experts.

The warehouse will also welcome social commentator and political activist, Patrick Vernon, who led the successful campaign to have June 22 every year declared Windy Day. Patrick brought with him an X-ray photograph belonging to his late friend Eddie Noble, a Jamaican World War II veteran who had settled in the United Kingdom after serving in the RAF.

The update was shared on social media with two photos from the upcoming episodes. The caption reads: “We are very proud to announce that the new #TheRepairShop series will feature two very special shows, marking the 75th anniversary of Empire Windrush’s arrival in the UK and the birth of the NHS.

Fans quickly recognized Michael, with one commenting: “Nice to meet Michael Rosen”, while another wrote, “…is that Michael Rosen?”
Other viewers only expressed their excitement, with one person writing: “Wonderful, such a great show”, while another commented, “Awesome! Nice to watch!”

In the first episode of the new series, we’ll see another familiar face walk through the warehouse door. According to the BBC’s website, award-winning poet Simon Armitage will bring his precious harmonium, which holds memories of his late father, to be revived by experts.

The new series comes just weeks after the show won a TV BAFTA for an episode featuring King Charles III, called ‘The Repair Shop: A Royal Visit’.

In the episode, Jay Blades and crew visited Charles at Dumfries House in Scotland. The King, who was still Prince of Wales when the episode was filmed in October 2022, brought in two precious items for repair: an 18th-century wearable watch and a piece of crockery. Wemyss was made for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.

After accepting the Day award, Jay revealed in the winners’ room that the show was on order for another two years.
When asked if he would continue with the show, he said, “I think we have two more years if I’m not mistaken. We’ll do a lot more. We just won a BAFTA so I thought I’d want to keep it on the air.”
