Rhys McKinnon was at Parkeg Riveg National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island, Massachusetts, taking shocking views whenever he saw the opportunity for the ideal shot.
He traced it on the money and took a picture and was really pleased with the results from the start. Great shot at sunset with three ducks definitely in the center. What could be better?
McKinnon went home and made some edits to the photo – and this is when he discovered that, aside from the ducks, he had actually captured another creature.
Some time later he changed the photo and that’s where he saw the swan in the photo.
The swan blends perfectly into the icy surface, which is why McKinnon didn’t see her in the first place.
However, during his dressing, it turned out to be clean, and that’s where he saw her, lying right behind the ducks.
McKinnon’s photo was brilliant at the time – but when he realized the swan was there, it turned out to be much more adorable and delicate.
