Roxanne Kaiser and Antonio Mattei got engaged on Netflix Ultimatumso it makes sense that some of their fellow reality stars will be in attendance when they say “I do” in October.

“There will be,” Mattei told PEOPLE at the Wildly Better Well-Being event celebrating the June 21 launch of his fiancee’s Proxy gummies in New York City. “No one from our season, but we invited a few.”

Mattei hopes to meet a colleague Ultimatum stars Randall Griffin and Colby Kissinger when he heads to Austin, TX for his bachelor party.

“It’s going to be fun,” Mattei said. “I love stand-up comedy, so we’ll try to go to as many comedy clubs as possible and do some off-roading while we’re down there. We were trying to get a couple of helicopters in, but that’s out of the budget.”

As for the big day, Mattei admitted that sometimes he’ll “forget we have a wedding” we’re planning.

“We have so many things we’ve been doing, but we were really lucky to have a great wedding planner,” the TV personality continued. “They kept us on track with our milestones. I’ll get alerts from my Google Calendar like, ‘You have a meeting with your wedding planner in 15 minutes.’ I’m like, ‘S—!’ But we are very excited about the wedding.”

While he and Kaiser still have a lot of planning to do, Mattei said they have somewhat decided on their first dance song. “At least we narrowed down the artist,” he continued. “When we’re cooking, so many times we’re slow dancing in the kitchen to Otis Redding, so we’re working out what song to choose.”

Mattei believes appearing on reality TV with Kasier and now living in the spotlight has prepared them for marriage.

“Everything we’ve been through has prepared us for marriage because it’s the hardest thing we’ve ever been through as a couple,” he said. “We’ve been through a lot of s— together. It allowed us to step back, look at the situation as it is and reassess what our common interest is. And say, ‘Hey, I’m in the heat of the moment right now and I’m really angry. But not to forget that we are on the same team.'”

Mattei said that going to therapy with Kaiser helped them establish a “really good tool set to deal with our emotions,” which includes keeping in mind that “we’re both trying to build something together” and taking “my emotions out of the equation” if ever the butt heads .

“When the show came out, our families were kind of picking on us,” Mattei revealed. “My mom and my dad were like, ‘Oh, does he love you? Really?’ I say: ‘Society, are you serious? Come. You know us.’ [It was] a few odd weeks and then we were through. They are all one big happy family.”

Still, Mattei admitted that his and Kaiser’s relationship dynamic has “definitely changed” since they appeared on television.

“When it comes in such a big wave, it’s impossible to ignore,” the Netflix reality star said. “Roxanne is a mental fortress. She doesn’t care… Sometimes she reads [the comments] and she’s like, ‘That’s crazy.’ But, especially at the beginning of our relationship, I would say, ‘I don’t feel that you respect me as the breadwinner. I don’t feel you respect me as a businessman.’ And then when it comes up in the comments and the public starts saying it, I say, ‘See, they’re saying it, so it must be true.'”

Fortunately, those worries didn’t last long. “It was hard at first, but I think it only lasted a few weeks,” Mattei said. “I would say, in general, it’s definitely developed trust. We mitigate all our stuff pretty well.”
