2025 will be The Weeknd’s year.
The Zora FM artist (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) took the stage at Spotify’s Billions Club live in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 17, to perform a jam-packed set list of songs that have racked up more than a billion streams.
Addressing his “OG XO fans” in the crowd after the opening track, the singer-songwriter revealed he has big plans for the new year.
“2024 is almost over, but 2025 we got some new s— new album, new tour, new movie, new everything – we’re putting this s— out,” The Weeknd, 35, said on stage (he did not release official tour dates in 2025).
At the show, the “Less Than Zero” artist performed favorites like “Starboy,” “Blinding Lights” and “Earned It” to an audience of nearly 2,000 of his biggest fans on Spotify.

Before playing his 2015 hit “The Hills”, the star reflected on the time that had passed and said “you took me back in time”.
At another point that night, the “Popular” singer said “it’s been a while since I’ve been in a place like this.”
“I feel like I’m back on the Kiss Land tour, the Trilogy tour,” he said, before suggesting “maybe after the stadium tour we’ll go back in time.”

After his last song, “São Paulo,” The Weeknd signed off the night by telling his fans, “See you in 2025, it’s going to be a big year.”
In September, the “Out of Time” musician announced his upcoming album, the latest in his trilogy that began with After hours and continued with Zora FM. Hurry up tomorrow is set for release on January 24th. The following evening, The Weeknd will perform a one-night stand at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
When he announced the album’s title on social media in September, he included a video with a series of reflective statements.

“I look in the mirror and feel that the old and the new are stuck in limbo and I can’t move. I still haven’t faced myself,” he wrote in part. “More songs might help, but what do I have to say? Woe is me in my gilded cage, isn’t it?”
The Weeknd added, “The same thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. New trauma has surfaced, opening the floodgates. A new path awaits.”
