There is a scene in season 3 of White lotus That’s why I drew myself. No, it’s not that one. It’s in episode 1 When the Three Best Frenemies Jaclyn, Kate and Laurie (Played by Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb and Carrie Coon, Respectively) are Exchanging Saccharine PLEASANTRIES ABOUT HOW “AMAZING” EACH OTHER LOOK.KATE CONTINUES TO PRESS Work She’s Had Done, to Which Jaclyn eventully Concedes: “I haveve’t do Anything Except, You Know – A Little Maintenance. The Basics.”
The visibly unpleasant Laurie moves on her legs, the nervous energy sensitive as she nodded clumsily and poured herself a glass of wine. Her reaction hit me hard, mostly because I felt seen. I’m a Laurie who works in the Jaclyns world, and I don’t know how I feel about it. I almost feel false to be a 38-year-old with the word “beauty” in my title that does not have a permanent Botox meeting with the derm, I am in the first place. Why didn’t I try CO2 laser renewal for my acne scars? Don’t I want to fight the technological door before it is “too late”? Is the window “preventive” closure against aging as I stare at the pipe at 40?

For a record, yes, I have a dermatologist. But my doctor is in New Jersey where I live and mostly go to her (or what is on rotation that day) for examination of the skin and treatment of my hormonal acne. You know, like an ordinary person. But in the world of beauty editors, you probably share a derm with J.LO and this person is armed with every top laser/light therapy/muscle paralyzer at your disposal, all of you commendable (free skin treatments are a job with the fact that when you write about it). Everything seems to be in my professional sphere. They write well-registered, sincere pieces of 2000 and more words (I read them all), reviewing the latest cosmetic procedures on the market-to-out market those who collect dust in the folder in my arrived mail. Collectively, they have every dermatologist in the Tristata area on speed dial. And while I was reliably interviewed by MDS about some of these procedures and celebrities who were fans of them, I personally did not research any. And for a 38-year-old style director and beauty at the NYC, which he has published from 22 years, this is basically unheard of.

Finding trapped in the corner of plastic surgery of ticta is not helping this spiral. There is a Bleph Bum in which influencers in their 30s share the incredible results of their upper eyelids, with titles such as: “It woke up my whole face!” And then, of course, Lindsay Lohan from everything – the Internet Sleuths will not sleep until they find out exactly what is behind her youthful glow.
I also think that staring at the photos of the beautiful carpets in the last 15 years of my career into my plastic surgery Truather – for better or worse.
“There is a reason for people in Hollywood look good from every corner,” Dr. Barry Weintraub, a plastic surgeon based in New York, based in New York, told me. “Their career depends on their appearance, they fully exploit the procedures that most use them, such as facial lifting, neck elevators, eyelids, supreme plastic plastic, full rhinoplasty, subtle removal of noisy fats, beard liposuction. These are grounded, not intended for the basis, until they are charged, Assudmentars, Assudments, while non-in-sewage options.
“Here’s the secret: the public only notices when the actors have poor plastic surgery. When they have an surgery performed by an experienced surgeon with complex techniques and sophisticated aesthetics, the public never doubts anything!”

I am a firm believer that everyone should do what makes them feel the best, but for me it may be a constant exposure and knowing that the next cosmetic process is just one “we have tried it”, he created this strange block – like “I will come to that … in the end!” For the past four years of my life, they have been dedicated to my two children, the struggle for pregnancy, staying pregnant and then a wonderful chaos from motherhood, from breastfeeding to sleeping training to return to the kindergarten and beyond. And maybe the cumulative exhaustion that comes with all this, because lately I have been feeling like my Tretino’s recipe just doesn’t cut.

While in my professional circle, I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t do the job, in my personal circle, this is quite the opposite. My closest friends of 25 are not so easy to influence or feel the same peer pressure – they are renegades! Of course, let’s replace our favorite skin care products and we connect that our little ones quickly get older, but no one soon hosting bubbles and botox fun. We are also talking about the importance of modeling self -accepting our children. And it’s funny that I don’t even see wrinkles that complain about the same way I see them throwing myself at me. That is quite the opposite, I am inspired by how great they look like. (Especially for a group of girls who spent our summer working at the Jersey Shore Beach clubs, and no sunscreen appears again.) I am also inspired by their parenting, career and more.

My 20-year high school gathering is later this year. Do I want people to think I look “waxed”? (Iykyk) no. But do I want to look built? Of course I did. So maybe the next time I am at dinner with my colleagues with glass leather, I will collect some recommendations to stick to my contacts. And when and if I decide to do something, I will surely share it with everyone on the internet.
