This Creamy Lip Crayon That Sells Every 20 Seconds Was Just Used on Chrissy Teigen — and I Love It, Too

We might just hear a song about Chrissy Teigen’s lips on John Legend’s next album — and he should really be praising Ilia Beauty, the brand used by Mandy Moore and Paulina Porizkova.

The Cravings The cookbook author was recently on a “closed set,” and even though her Instagram caption says otherwise, she’s shared some of the best kinds of photos: BTS snaps of her getting dressed up.

In the final slide of Teigen’s post, someone, somewhere off-camera, is seen delicately defining the star’s lips with the Ilia Beauty Sketch hydrating crayon, which the brand says sells out every 20 seconds.

The $26 Lip Sketch Hydrating Crayon is a bit of an enigma: The brand says it has the “creamy comfort of a lipstick” and the “precision of a lip liner,” which I found to be both true as it sent two over to me to try.

The product glides on silky whether I’m using it to line my lips or for an all-over color, but since it’s a bit thicker, I don’t have to be precise with where I put it. The color also shows up in one small stroke and is easy to wipe off when I go over a bit too much. It feels like an art class, only I’m allowed to color inside and outside the lines.

The formula is also hydrating – packed with ingredients like sea juice, hyaluronic acid, seaweed extract and rosehip oil. It also doesn’t feel gritty or sticky when I tap or rub my lips. The brand advertises its durability as 12 hours, without bleeding.

Teigen had the shade Pink Door (which you can also see on the menu below), but there are 12 colors to choose from if light pink isn’t your thing. Banquette is another favorite of mine and is finally back in stock with Genre, Night Bloom and Gala, three other popular shades, according to the brand.
