But while drugs such as Ozempic were popular with celebrities, they didn’t appeal to Alison, whose late mother Maria had type 2 diabetes.
She said: “For me, as soon as I hear any scary story, I get scared.
“So I didn’t want to use them, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t in the future, and I certainly wouldn’t look down on anyone who did.
“My mom had type 2 diabetes and she was worried about me, so when I found out I was pre-diabetic, it was scary.

“I thought ‘I have to be grown up about this’. Sweets had to stop – and fatty foods.
“I see my personal trainer twice a week, and I have a few weights in my bedroom.
“I walk, stretch and sometimes do a little yoga.
“I try to change it so that it’s not the same every day.
“After a workout in the gym, I think I’m Venus Williams, with all those endorphins pumping around.
“If I miss a practice or two with my coach, I notice it. That kick you get outside of the way you feel is so good.”

Alison told Good Housekeeping magazine that she achieved her goal with training twice a week and changing her diet.
But she added: “I’m not pre-diabetic anymore — so I’m a bit more mischievous with my food now.”
“But because my body is working properly, I can allow myself a little sugar here and there.
“I love my new shape and although I still have areas I’m self-conscious about, like my arms and stomach, it’s great to be able to wear things I never could before. I mean, look at me, I’m the bomb.”
A FRESH CHAPTER
Alison’s new look comes after she opened her happy chapter with her new man.
The ITV daytime favorite has broken her silence on her relationship with David Putnam over the years.
While Alison is 49 years old, the masseuse is 27 years old.
She told the same publication that he is “mature” – which she says is unlike herself.
Alison said: “I can see how, on paper, you’d notice the age difference.
“But honestly, when we see the word ‘toyboy’ written about us, it has nothing to do with what we have.
“Yes, I’m 22 years older than him, but if you’d seen us together, you’d understand. People told me, ‘We get it now’.”
She also told how her 19-year-old son gave the partnership a thumbs up.
