Tiffany Haddish Will Face Misdemeanor Charges in Los Angeles DUI Case

The comedian (44) was arrested after he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel of a car on November 24

Tiffany Haddish will face two misdemeanor charges after she allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, People can confirm.

The comedian, 44, was arrested in the early morning hours of Nov. 24 after Beverly Hills police responded to a call about a woman who was pulled over in the middle of Beverly Drive while the vehicle was in motion.

The night before, Haddish performed at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood in honor of the free Thanksgiving holiday, according to TMZ.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE that Girls trip old, one misdemeanor was reported for driving under the influence of alcohol and one misdemeanor for driving with 0.08% alcohol in the blood. Her trial and plea is scheduled for December 22.

Hours after her arrest, Haddish performed a pre-arranged stand-up show at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, Calif., and spoke about the situation, according to audio obtained by TMZ from an audience member.

In the video, Haddish is asked what happened “last night” and jokingly replies, “Tell me.” She adds: “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, a career, preferably in uniform, and I heard my prayers.”

The news comes after she was arrested in Georgia on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and an illegal traffic stop in January 2022.

“The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of Ms. Tiffany Haddish for driving under the influence,” police told PEOPLE at the time. “She was transported to the Fayette County Jail without incident.”

About her arrest, she explained to the newspaper that her Tesla had parked itself when she fell asleep and that she had blocked part of the street when the police arrived.
