Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans, based in Nashville, Tennessee, are a professional American football team that competes in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the AFC South Division. They play their home games at the Nissan Stadium.

Originally founded as the Houston Oilers in 1959, the team joined the AFL and enjoyed early success, winning two AFL championships and four division titles. After the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, the Oilers became part of the NFL. Notably, they made several playoff appearances during the late 1970s and 1980s, featuring notable players such as Earl Campbell and Warren Moon.

In 1997, the team moved to Nashville, temporarily playing in Memphis before moving to Vanderbilt Stadium the following year. They changed their name to the Titans in 1999 and moved to their current home, the Adelphia Coliseum (now Nissan Stadium). The Titans have a state-of-the-art practice facility located at Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville.

While the Titans reached the Super Bowl in 2000, but fell short against the St. Louis Rams, experienced consistent success in the early 2000s, making multiple playoff appearances.

However, they faced a playoff drought for a significant portion of the next decade. The team has seen a resurgence in recent years, with six straight winning seasons from 2016 to 2021 and four playoff appearances. Notably, the Titans have the distinction of having two players, Chris Johnson (2009) and Derrick Henry (2020), rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season.
