Crowley most recently held the positions of managing director for Giraffe Concepts and CEO of Boparan Restaurant Group, the U.K. master franchisee for Slim Chickens, a well-known American chicken brand.
“I’m ecstatic about the chance to introduce the well-known Popeyes brand into the thriving U.K. market. I think our truly innovative offering, anchored in actual Louisianan culture, will really hit home with visitors from the U.K., added Crowley.
“The hotel sector has had a really difficult year, so I’m happy that Popeyes will be able to help the sector recover with our lofty plans for the U.K. I am quite optimistic about what we can do over the next ten years and beyond since Popeyes is such a unique brand.
By the end of 2021, the first Popeyes restaurant in the United Kingdom will open, making it the brand’s eleventh nation in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) area, which is already home to more than 350 Popeyes eateries. Popeyes was established in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and now has 3,400 locations in 29 countries.
