Tom Daley’s husband Dustin Lance Black ‘twists’ BBC star’s arm in front of Love Island ex Amber Gill… as case thrown out

The moment Tom Daley’s husband allegedly “twisted” the BBC star’s arm in front of her Love Island ex has been revealed after the case was dropped.

Dustin Lance Black, 49, has been charged with assault following an altercation at a nightclub with The Big Proud Party Agency host Teddy Edwardes, 33.

He wept with relief on Wednesday after the judge dismissed the case, calling the evidence “inconsistent” and “unreliable”.

Footage of the brawl at the Freedom nightclub in London’s Soho has now been released.

Both Edwardes and Black appear to be feuding in front of Olympic diver Daley and Love Island star Amber Gill.

At one point, Daley tries to calm down the Oscar-winning screenwriter while Amber puts herself between him and her then-partner.

Black then moves his hand towards Edwardes, who drops the drink he’s holding.

He immediately walks out of the club as Daley throws up his hands in shock.

Moments after the recording stopped, Edwardes punched Black in the back of the head, prompting her to receive a police warning.

Black, who has two children with Olympic jumper Daley, 29, was brought before the court for allegedly twisting Edwardes’ wrist “very badly”.

She claimed the fight broke out when she asked security to remove another man from the area.

Edwardes said in her deposition that Black began “yelling” in her face as everyone, including Tom, tried to calm him down.

She added: “Lance grabbed my left wrist. I had a drink in my hand. He grabbed my wrist and turned it so that my drink would spill all over. He was a few inches from me.

“It was very hard and very aggressive.”

But Black’s defense attorney claims Edwardes “completely underestimated” her aggression.

The court was also read some social media posts Edwardes had made which appeared to downplay the alleged incident.

Dismissing the case, Judge Joanna Cieciora slammed the “inconsistencies and weaknesses” in her testimony.

She also ordered the Crown to pay Black’s legal costs – although the amount was not disclosed in court.

Black, who won an Oscar for his 2008 film Milk, sobbed and hugged his husband after the assault charge was dropped.

He later said: “I am glad that the judge saw the truth today and ruled in my favor. As the evidence has proven, and I have always maintained, I am completely innocent, and in fact I was the victim in this case of a serious attack.

“I am relieved that this unfortunate matter is over now.”
