Tracy Morgan Says He Gained 40 Lbs. on Ozempic After Learning to ‘Out-Eat’ the Weight Loss Drug

The 55-year-old Primetime Emmy nominee stopped by on Tuesday The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where the two discussed his life together, the New York Knicks and his relationship with Nas.

As soon as Morgan sat down on stage, he received a compliment from the late-night talk show host, 49.

“Looking good, mate,” Fallon told his guest. “You look great. How do you stay in shape these days?”

“Well, it’s Ozempic,” Morgan said, referring to the type 2 diabetes drug, which has skyrocketed in popularity for weight loss, especially among celebrities.

After Fallon’s brief reaction, Saturday night live alum shared his recent experience with the drug.

“I learned to eat more from Ozempic. I ate Ozempic. I gained 40 pounds,” Morgan said jokingly during the interview.

“I’ve never heard of anyone getting 40,” Fallon replied.

Before moving on to the next topic, 30 Rock alum joked, “I’m like Magic Johnson. I gained 40 pounds.”

Although Morgan did not specify whether he is still taking the medication, some people gain weight after stopping the medication.

A study published in Journal of Pharmacology and Therapy in April 2022 found that most people taking semaglutide regained most of their weight within a year of stopping the drug.

The actor and comedian first revealed that he used Ozempic during an episode in August 2023. Today with Hoda and Jenna.

“No, it’s Ozempic,” he said, adding, “That’s how this weight came off… I went and got a prescription and got Ozempic.”

He was also happy to share how often he incorporated FDA-approved prescription drugs into his lifestyle for optimal results.

“I take Ozempic every Thursday,” Morgan shared with the daytime talk show hosts as he showed the women how he injects himself into the stomach.

“It cuts my appetite in half. Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos,” he added jokingly.

Morgan isn’t the only entertainer to speak publicly about Ozempic, as dozens have also shared their experiences.

“The people who hate it the most are the people who secretly do it or are angry that they can’t afford it,” Kelly Osbourne told E! Online in February.
