The body was discovered after officers combed the town’s Chellow Dene reservoirs yesterday evening.

Detectives investigating the death said it is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Zakir went missing from the house on Tuesday.

He was wearing black sweatpants and a North Face jacket when he was last seen.

Zakir is described as an Asian male, about 5 feet tall, with a thin build and dark brown hair.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police searching for missing teenager Zakir Muhammad Mughal have found a body.

“The body was found in Chellow Dene Reservoir shortly before 6pm on Thursday.

“While formal identification is yet to be carried out, it is believed that Zakir’s body and his family have been notified.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”

Bradford Council said Chellow Dene Reservoir was closed to the public yesterday due to “police activity in the area”.

It includes a parking lot, footpaths and grounds around the reservoir.
