Travis Kelce Gushes About Taylor Swift and the 'Comfort' of Having Her There for Him 'Off the Field'

Travis Kelce explained why he and Taylor Swift continue to publicly support each other as they reach new heights in their respective careers.

“I enjoy all aspects of life. Me and Taylor are happy,” Kelce, 35, said of his relationship with Swift in an appearance on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The Stephen A. Smith Show before the Kansas City Chiefs playoff game against the Houston Texans on January 18th.

“I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could want in the stadium,” Kelce continued.

Smith, 57, told the tight end that he “never listened [Swift’s] music” before going to her concert. Smith went twice and spent about $20,000 on tickets for his daughter and nine of her friends. “I said, ‘This better pay off.’ And I have to admit, it was so damn good.”

“She made you sing a second time? Isn’t that something,” Kelce joked before Smith said, “And dancing!”

Smith asked if what happened with Swift, 35, “contributed [Kelce’s] football talent.”

“Where would you describe your mentality at this particular moment knowing that everything is going well for both of us [of you] personally and professionally?”

“Personally, I think the beauty of being in a strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to approach and focus on your craft, focus on being the best version of yourself,” Kelce said. “That’s why I wanted to be at the concert, support her and be there for her, make sure she’s comfortable and support her in everything she does in life.”

“I think I’m as focused as ever on my job and being the best player I can be week in and week out for this team,” Kelce said. “It’s because I don’t have to worry about things off the field.”

While it is on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, January 13, Kelce was asked if Swift draws inspiration from relationships in her work.

“Let’s just say you’re hanging out, out and having a little dinner and all of a sudden the creative juices are flowing,” host Pat McAfee surmised, “and an absolute beast you’re sitting with who will go down as perhaps the most famous icon in music history… are you a motivator every time? ”

“Oh yeah. You know that,” Kelce said, adding that he was “never going to tune in” during Swift’s creative process. “But I’m here to support it,” he said. “I’m here to see where it can go.”
