Travis Scott Dragged Away by Police in New Video Footage of Paris Arrest After Fight with Bodyguard

Travis Scott appears to be dragged away by police following his August 9 arrest for fighting with his bodyguard in Paris in a new video.

In a video obtained by TMZ, police are holding the rapper (real name Jacques Bermon Webster II), 33, by the hands inside the George V Hotel. As he exits the building, a handcuffed Scott ducks his head as three officers hold him by the upper body and they send him out of a luxury hotel. They appear to shoulder Scott to get into the police car as they leave the area.

According to video from the bar, the “Highest in the Room” hitmaker was taken outside the jail by an ambulance a few hours later.

The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrest of the hip hop star to PEOPLE on August 9.

Travis Scott arrested in Paris after a fight with a bodyguard in a luxury hotel

According to French authorities, Scott allegedly assaulted a security guard who tried to break up an argument between the musician and his bodyguard at a five-star hotel in the French capital.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, a Paris prosecutor’s officer said, “I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, shortly after 5 a.m., police were called to the Georges V Hotel and arrested a man nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard. The latter is intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard, and the prosecutor’s office took over the investigation.”

A representative for the “Trance” artist told PEOPLE in a statement, “We are in direct communication with local Paris authorities to quickly resolve this issue and will provide updates when necessary.”

According to sources close to Scott, he is expected to be released soon. Insiders also told PEOPLE that there are no reports of injuries and that he has not been charged with anything.

A source close to the “SICKO MODE” artist added that “after days of being chased and harassed by paparazzi upon entering his hotel early this morning and another evening where he was attacked without any help, Travis was arrested at his hotel after unfortunately entering into fights with his own security, his bodyguard.”

Hours before his arrest, Scott was seen attending the USA basketball team’s semi-final against Serbia at Bercy Arena at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Thursday, August 8.

Travis Scott’s lawyer says arrest was ‘due to misunderstanding’ and thanks authorities for ‘amicable resolution’

According to public records, the “God’s Country” musician was arrested in Miami on June 20 on charges of disorderly drinking and trespassing after a warning.

At the time, Scott’s attorney Bradford Cohen said in a statement that the rapper/producer was “briefly detained due to a misunderstanding.”

“There was no physical confrontation and we thank the authorities for cooperating with us in a quick and amicable solution,” he said.
