Trista Sutter is just fine.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, May 25, Bachelor The alum, 51, spoke out for the first time after her husband Ryan Sutter shared a series of cryptic posts on social media that raised concerns about the status of their relationship.
“For God’s sake people. Can’t a girl here go through a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace?! 😜🤣,” Trista began, sharing a photo of herself, her husband and their two children – son Maxwell, 16 , and daughter Blakesley, 14 — during a tropical vacation.
“Most seriously, for those it concerns, I am alive and well, happy and healthy, in love and grateful. 🥰”, she continued. “For those who would rather focus on being critical and looking too dark, good luck with that. 🙃.”

Ryan Sutter reflects on the ‘attention’ his cryptic Mother’s Day post received: ‘All because I missed my wife’
According to Trista, “I was presented with an opportunity for perspective and personal growth, and with the unconditional support of my family and friends, I chose myself and betterment, knowing that my work as a stay-at-home mother and my children at the end – the needs of the school year were at their best , with the most capable hands.”
Noting that Ryan, 49, whom she called her “stoic husband,” usually “chooses privacy over publicity,” Trista said he “decided to share his love for me in messages that will find me on my travels,” referring to his posts on social media which caused concern among fans.
“We look at Instagram as a digital diary. Most of the time the world doesn’t pay too much attention. This time he couldn’t say anything good and almost every news outlet picked up on his ‘mysterious/confusing/attention’-seeking/dramatic’ pictures and descriptions,” she explained.
Added Trista, “They gave me exactly what my love language of Words of Affirmation needed to get me through some serious doubt and fear…and that’s all that matters.”

Trista then wrote that her husband – whom she married in 2003 – “does not owe anyone an explanation or needs permission to post what he wants to post and share what he wants to share. 💯.”
“If you want to know the rest of the story, I will share with you in due course,” she continued. “Back to our regular schedule for now – from the beach in Mexico! 🇲🇽 🏝️🤿.”
“After all, nervous breakdowns and separations require much-needed rest and relaxation! 😎”, concluded Trista.
The reality star also shared a series of posts on Instagram Stories, including one of her husband lounging on the beach “in his relaxation era”, as well as one of each of her children enjoying their holiday.

Ryan initially caused concern when he posted a series of photos on Instagram for Mother’s Day on May 12. In the posts, he revealed that Trista spends the day away from him and their children.
Days later, he shared an updated post, writing, “Trista is fine. We’re fine. We’re great.”
The former firefighter added: “Trista is at a place in her life where she’s looking a bit. An opportunity presented itself that could help her in that search. With the support of her family, she took it. Part of that process means he’s temporarily unavailable to us.”
In another post shared on the same day, Ryan said: “I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you are? How was your day. I really wish I could hear your voice – just for a minute. I’ve called so many times with nothing that’s to say, not realizing how lucky I’ve been or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone.”
