Tristan Thompson Knows His Cheating with Jordyn Woods Caused Kylie Jenner to ‘Lose a Sister’ and Gain ‘Distrust’

Tristan Thompson is taking steps to right his wrongs and apologize to Kylie Jenner.

Thursday’s episode The Kardashians saw Tristan, 32, try to repair his relationship with Kylie and Kourtney Kardashian Barker for the first time after repeatedly cheating on their sister Khloé Kardashian.

His conversation with Kylie, 26, was perhaps the most important because one of Tristan’s past affairs was with Kylie’s then-best friend Jordyn Woods, and the two never really had a conversation about the fallout.

Before their date, Khloé, 39, spoke with Kylie to make sure the beauty was ready to talk, especially since Khloé had to break the news to Tristan a few days earlier that “Kendall [Jenner] he doesn’t really love you.” After hearing this, Tristan said he was determined to meet up with the rest of Khloé’s siblings he hadn’t spoken to yet and clear the situation up.

“She wants to talk to you,” Khloé told her little sister. “There doesn’t have to be closure, but how can there be any form of progress if no one is willing to talk?”

Kylie agreed to speak to Tristan, but admitted: “It’s confusing for me because I actually really like Tristan as a person, so I have to separate him as a person and then the things he’s done to you. There’s a sense of distrust.”

“Like, who are you? Which one is it?” Khloé agreed. “That’s the biggest mindf— of all of this. You’re all these super fucking things, but you couldn’t be fucking super to me?”

In the confessional, Kylie added: “I have a forgiving personality and I appreciate that Tristan takes my daughter out with True and has a good relationship with her, so I think after his mom died, it wasn’t the right time to talk about things that just we never did. So I think it would be good if we talked about everything that happened.”

Later in the episode, Tristan came over to Kylie’s house and the two sat down to clear up the past drama and its aftermath.

“Everyone is affected differently, but I think the situation that affected you the most was the loss of your sister,” Tristan told Kylie. “You lost Jordyn, who was a big part of your life. I know how much she meant to your life and the relationship between your guys, you were like two peas in a pod. So the fact that I put myself and her in a situation that wasn’t right and she wasn’t smart, she made it difficult for you and Khloé.”

He continued: “It’s 100 percent on me, but I want to say that I’m sorry and I feel bad about it. The fact that I came up with my bad decisions and that I’m a fucking idiot, and that I’m young and stupid, I wanted more to say once that I’m sorry about it just because life is so short and shit, because even though we made a mistake, sometimes it’s hard to come back from those situations.”

Kylie appreciated his honesty and offered insight into her relationship with Jordyn today.

“I think I was so dependent on Jordyn that I could never imagine my life without her,” she explained. “We’d probably still live together and I think she had to grow up without me, I had to grow up without her. But you know, Jordyn and I are cool. We still talk and catch up, we’re good.”

Tristan was glad to hear that and asked Kylie to share her feelings with Jordyn because “she’s been through a lot during that time too … and I’m the reason that relationship went in a different direction.”

“I’m a fucking idiot,” Tristan added, as Kylie noted, “You’re doing some stupid s— … why, Tristan?”

Kylie continued, “I think you have such a good heart and good energy. To know you is to love you, I mean your spirit and everything… so it’s confusing because some of the s— you do is f— going crazy.”

Tristan agreed and admitted, “I think a lot of it was selfish and not understanding the value of good people.”

In the confessional, he admitted: “Kylie has been there for my family through the worst times and her life changed because of my actions, so I wanted to be responsible and apologize to her and Jordyn, so I hope she takes that message to Jordyn because she had an impact to many people.”

Tristan told Kylie: “I want to get my family’s respect back, so I’m trying to do that, one day.”

While Kylie admitted that it’s “hard to forgive the things you did Khloé,” she stressed that “I want to move on from that.” Tristan replied, “I’m not in a position to ask for anything. I think the only thing I can continue to do is prove myself and be who I am, and then I think overtime … try to win back everybody’s trust.”

“You want your family to be comfortable around you, you never want anyone looking at you or questioning your character or integrity as a human being,” he continued. “That’s my motivation. I never want my daughter to go to school and talk so nice about me, and then a little kid comes along and says, ‘Oh, your dad is this, this, this,’ and she’s going to be embarrassed. And it’s going to break my heart because she thinks so highly of me. You just want to be a good influence and role model for them, so they can be proud of you … and say, ‘That’s my dad.'”

The NBA player added: “Having the three most important things in my life — basketball, my mom, my family — all of that taken away from me in the span of a year is the biggest wake-up call you can get in your life, so I’m trying to correct my mistakes as best I can.” .”

The two ended their conversation on a high note, as Kylie expressed her gratitude to Tristan for coming and apologizing. They then hugged and said they loved each other before Tristan walked out.

Khloé and Tristan began dating on and off in 2016. He cheated on her multiple times, including once just days before their daughter True was born in April 2018.

In February 2019, news broke that Tristan had gotten involved with Jordyn. A few weeks later, Jordyn shared her side of the story on The Talk , claiming that Tristan kissed her at an after party at his house on February 17. Although she vehemently denied having sex with him, she admitted that the next day she told Khloé and Kylie that she was at Tristan’s house, but did not reveal what happened between them.

Because of the scandal, the founder of Kylie Cosmetics began to distance herself from their friendship. Eventually, Jordyn started making amends with the Kar-Jenner family, and Khloé even revealed that she didn’t hold a grudge against her younger sister’s friend.

In July, Kylie and Jordyn were photographed together for the first time since the scandal broke. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the restaurant outing wasn’t the first time they’d gotten back together — just their first time together in public. The duo spent the past year spending time together, away from the cameras, as they worked on their friendship.

“Jordyn reached out to Kylie to apologize for everything going down and let her know she loves her,” another source said.

As for Khloé and Tristan, they gave their romance another shot, but it was later revealed in December 2021 that Tristan fathered a child with Maralee Nichols around the same time Khloé and Tristan were secretly expecting their second child via surrogate.

Khloé officially ended their relationship months before the birth of their son Tatum in August 2022 and has since repeatedly stated that she has no intention of getting back together.
