British TV presenter Davina McCall is making “mega progress” in her recovery from brain surgery, her partner has said.
McCall, 57, who is known in the UK for hosting a number of TV shows, including the UK version Big Brotheris out of intensive care and “conscious of the love” for her partner Michael Douglas, who shared the news on his Instagram account on Monday, Nov. 18, following recent brain surgery to remove a tumor.
“Update people. Thank you very much to all well-wishers. ❤️❤️❤️,” wrote 49-year-old Douglas. “She’s really taken a huge step forward in the last 24 hours. She came out of intensive care. She is “aware of love” ❤️🌈🪐🌎💥💕 Thank you xx Michael.”
He added in a photo message: “Mega progress in the last 24 hours. A huge relief to see the light breaking through. Thanks for all the good vibes coming from all corners. Up and up ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” he concluded before signing off.

In a previous update shared by Douglas after McCalla’s surgery on Friday, Nov. 15, he wrote that she is “currently recovering in ICU as a precaution” and is “completely exhausted.” He added that the couple were “super grateful” after the operation.
McCall revealed she will be undergoing brain surgery after a recent scan revealed she has a “very rare” brain tumor in a pre-recorded video posted on Instagram on November 15.
“A few months ago, I gave a talk about menopause for a company and in return they offered me a health screening, which I thought I would pass,” she said, speaking to the camera. “It turned out I had a benign brain tumor called a colloid cyst, which is very rare.”

McCall described the tumor as “14 mm wide” and “large for the space” and that it occurs in “three in a million” people. After seeking out “a lot of neurosurgeons” and medical opinions, she said she “knew I had to get it out.”
“So I’m going to have it removed with a craniotomy,” she explained in the video. “…So pray for me. I’m in good spirits.”
Douglas, with whom McCall has been in a relationship since 2019, according to a British newspaper Sunhe added in the video that he will “keep an eye on her” and that “she is in very good hands”.
“Also… I’m fine. It’s been up and down, obviously. We’ve been through a lot,” McCall continued. She added that during recovery “I will be in the hospital for about nine days, and then I will go home” and that “he will be without a phone for a while, so Michael could give you all the information.”
“See you on the other side,” McCall concluded her video.
McCall is mother to daughters Holly (23) and Tilly (21) and son Chester (18), whom she shares with ex-husband Matthew Robertson. The couple separated after 17 years of marriage in November 2017, per Hello! Magazine.
