Two key signs it’s ‘not rosy’ with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of his 40th birthday revealed by royal expert – The Sun

There are two key signs that things are ‘not rosy’ between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of his 40th birthday, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke will celebrate his milestone tomorrow, but plans for a bachelor getaway – without his wife – have fueled rumors that there could be trouble in paradise.

His announcement on the eve of the momentous occasion, which will see him inherit an estimated £8 million from the late Queen Mother, also raised some eyebrows.

The father-of-two showered children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, with praise – but made no mention of Meghan.

I’ve always thought she’s the one who sets the agenda – which he follows – I don’t know how willingly

Hugo Vickers

It comes amid reports from Harry’s former friends that he is miserable in the US, hidden by Meghan’s ‘shadow’ as he is relegated to her ‘plus one’.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun that two key signs could indicate there were problems – that Harry did not note Meghan in his birthday statement and that they could not retain staff.

He said: “It’s surprising that he didn’t mention his wife because he has a habit of doing that, so I can see how that leads us to speculate that things aren’t rosy in that area.

“This birthday will be a time for him to look back and look forward, I hope in some sense he will pause and reflect on the things he said and did that were extremely damaging to his own family and isolated him.”

The historian highlighted the “remarkable” step Harry and Meg took in leaving the company in 2020.

But he doubted the couple’s bright future in the “very commercial and very different world” in which the duke was brought up.

Mr Vickers also claimed the couple were “relying” on the waning “royal celebrity status” Harry was bringing them.

“The press is interested in them now, but it won’t last forever. I think he will think about it,” he said.

MEGHAN’S PROGRAM

Speaking about Meghan and Harry’s scrutinized relationship in the public eye, a royal expert said the Duchess was “more proactive and open”.

How Prince Harry went from a flirtatious 30 to a desolate 40

“I’ve always thought that she’s the one who sets the agenda – which he follows – I don’t know how willingly,” he continued.

“He seems to be a plus one. People have suggested that she was giving him messages about what to do and how to behave, and when I, as an outsider, look at the two of them, I see a confident Meghan and a rather unhappy Prince Harry.”

The historian told how he accidentally came across a photo of the duke with a bright smile.

“I thought ‘wait a minute, this is not the Prince Harry I recognize right now,'” he explained.

“When I looked at the date it was from 2015, before Meghan.”

Amid rampant speculation that there is a wedge between them, Mr Vickers spoke of how the Duke’s life has changed since he moved abroad.

“I think his life shapes Meghan more than he does,” he said.

“We all read the reports that she isolated him from his former friends.

How Prince Harry went from reserve heir to ‘Meghan’s plus one’

PRINCE Harry has told how excited he is to turn 40 – but he didn’t mention his wife in his birthday message.

In an 84-word statement ahead of his landmark celebrations tomorrow, he praised his two children and said he was “committed to making this world a better place”.

Harry, who will also inherit £8million from the late Queen Mother on Sunday, added that while he was “anxious” to turn 30, he is now “excited” to turn 40.

He said: “Regardless of age, my mission is to keep showing up and doing good in the world.”

He then described how being a dad to the “incredibly good and funny” five-year-old Archie and sister Lilibet, three, is one of life’s “greatest joys”.

But one thing was clearly missing from Harry’s statement – his wife Meghan.

The apparent omission – rare for the prince, who usually gushes about the woman he married six years ago – set tongues wagging again.

The statement comes after friends claim the royal family is now reduced to Meghan’s “plus one” at events, something which has fans fearing the worst.

Is there trouble in paradise? surely not?

Harry and Meghan said they will celebrate tomorrow’s milestone birthday at their home in Montecito, California.

The silent tussle is likely to feature strong performances mostly from Meghan’s Hollywood pals, as insiders insist poor old Harry’s friend group across the Atlantic is a bit weak.

Indeed, insiders claim that Harry has become increasingly isolated and currently considers his best friend to be his bodyguard, David Langdown – known as “Langers”.

They added that Harry has also been transferred to Meghan’s “plus one” for events.

This week he appeared at the opening of a bookstore run by two of her friends, literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics executive Victoria Jackson.

A source said: “The event summed up Harry’s life in a nutshell. He was more of a plus-one than an equal there — someone useful for an image on social networks.

“His circle of friends is led by Meghan. It seems that his social life is increasingly led and built by her.”

“And of course, some of his friends, and we assume Prince William as well, raised all kinds of concerns about him getting married so quickly, and if Meghan Markle did it again, which I’m sure she did, he would never be forgiven, and they would be somewhat eliminated.”

The only person, according to Mr Vickers, who seems to have maintained a strong bond with Harry is his cousin, Princess Eugenie.

While there is talk of Harry’s lost childhood friendships in the UK, it has been reported that the Duke has made several connections in the United States.

“But if he’s walking away from a group of friends curated and hand-picked by Meghan Markle. he’s not going to have a hugely exciting boys’ weekend,” Mr Vickers claimed.

“He was very excited to find Meghan, most of the time they were quite united, maybe not so united at the moment.

“The connection will be the children, about whom he speaks so tenderly, I’m sure that it gives him immense pleasure and purpose in life, looking after those little children.

“And there is sadness because they will grow up and at some point realize that they don’t know their relatives.

“If you grew up in California and discovered your first cousin was the future King of England, you might want to spend more time with them.”

‘VERY VERY BAD SIGN’

Ahead of her husband’s 40th birthday, Meghan was dubbed the “difficult duchess” by terrified staff, according to a brutal US report.

The mother-of-two, 43, has also been described as a “dictator in high heels” who bombards employees with emails from 5am.

This comes amid speculation over Meghan and husband Prince Harry’s notoriously high staff turnover and Josh Kettler’s resignation as the Sussexes’ chief of staff after just three months.

“I know people in Windsor who said how hard it was for her when they were at Adelaide Cottage,” added Mr Vickers.

She needs him right now, but maybe there will come a time when she feels she can go on her own and that she’s created her own identity and can throw it away

Hugo Vickers

“There was a time when she was incredibly rude to one of the assistant gardeners and the head gardener complained to the Queen and she drove down to Adelaide Cottage and beat her up.

“There’s a lot of evidence that they can’t keep staff and that’s a very, very bad sign because some people command great loyalty, the late Prince Philip for example.”

A royal expert shared his long-standing concern that it would “end badly” for the Sussexes.

“If you do something different, like with the Duke of Windsor, who I’ve only met once, but I’ve never seen a man with such sad eyes,” he said.

The historian said it “doesn’t look good” for the couple “unless [they] deliver the goods” in a “high-end, cutting-edge world”.

He continued: “I have a feeling, as far as Prince Harry is concerned, it won’t end so well. I can’t say with Meghan Markle, she might have her own independent plans.

“The reason we’re talking about them is because we know Harry as a prince. Meghan has done a lot of good jobs before, but nothing compared to the profile she got by marrying Prince Harry.

“She needs him right now, but maybe there will come a time when she feels like she can go off on her own and she’s created her own identity and she can ditch him. I don’t want to say it, but there’s always a possibility.”

Meghan Markle called a ‘difficult duchess’

By Alex Diaz

Terrified staff dubbed MEGHAN the “difficult duchess”, according to a brutal US report.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has also been described as a “dictator in high heels” who fires off emails to employees at all hours.

The devastating assessment came amid speculation of high staff turnover for Meghan and husband Prince Harry.

A source, said to be close to the California couple, told The Hollywood Reporter: “Everyone is terrified of Meghan.

“She belittles people, doesn’t take advice.

“Both are bad decision-makers, they often change their minds.

“Harry is a very, very charming person – he’s not ambitious at all – but he’s very much a drive. And she’s just terrible.”

The respected trade publication claims that “loud tantrums and angry 5am emails” have earned Meghan the title of “difficult duchess”.

One source said she is “absolutely relentless”, adding: “She marches around like a dictator in high heels, raging and barking.

“I’ve watched him bring grown men to tears.”

In 2021, Buckingham Palace investigated claims that Meghan had harassed two royal associates “outside the household”.

Harry and Meghan’s former communications secretary wrote in a leaked 2018 email: “The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights.”

Meghan denounced the allegations as a “calculated smear campaign” against her.

The investigation was concluded in 2022, but its results were never made public.

Sources close to the Sussexes described the Hollywood Reporter article as “ill-informed”.

Representatives for the couple declined to comment on the story.
