Two Sides of the Abyss will premiere on HBO Max on May 8, 2023, with all six episodes streaming simultaneously. The thriller, created and written by Kristin Derfler, follows police officer Wuppertal Luise Berg as she confronts her daughter’s killer, Dennis Opitz, who was released early after serving a seven-year sentence. As more murders occur, Luise becomes suspicious of Dennis, but the others are suspicious as well.
