Tire Nichols, 29, was reportedly the man who lost his life at the hands of 5 police officers. He was pulled over by police on January 7, 2023 on reckless driving charges and brutally assaulted by 5 officers. He was admitted to the hospital in serious condition and died after 3 days of treatment. On January 10, 2023 he expired. Memphis police have reportedly fired 5 officers and all of them are black. On Tuesday, January 24, 203, attorneys for Mr. Nichols released a statement that included information from a forensic pathologist. Additionally, new reports indicate that the Memphis Police Department says it is preparing to release graphic body camera footage of the arrest of a 29-year-old black man. Cerelyn Davis, the police chief, notified the public on the night of Wednesday, January 25, 2023, saying that the video would be released “in the next few days.”
