Ukraine ‘AGREES minerals deal with US’ and could sign pact in days after Trump’s furious Zelensky clash

Ukraine agreed to a mineral agreement with the US, Ukrainian security officials said.

Kiyiv hopes that the move will improve relations with Trump’s administration and strengthen long -term security ties, as Zelensky is voted on to remain president of the country “indefinitely” according to martial arts law.

An agreement that focuses on the joint development of the huge mineral resources of Ukraine – including oil and gas – comes after Washington has reduced the demand for potential revenue of $ 500 billion.

Although the agreement does not include explicit guarantees of the US, Ukrainian officials see it as a step towards deepening economic and strategic cooperation, the Financial Times reports.

“The mineral agreement is only part of the picture. We have heard from the US administration repeatedly that this is part of a bigger picture,” the Deputy Professor of the Government and the Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna told FT on Tuesday.

The original conditions, which President Donald Trump framed as the way Ukraine repays the US for military and financial assistance from the invasion of Russian 2022, encountered a fierce return reaction of Kiev and European allies.

After President Volodymyskyy rejected the initial draft, it was reportedly called Trump a “dictator” and suggested that Ukraine convey the responsibility for launching war.

The final version, from February 24, which FT saw, establishes a fund to which Ukraine will contribute to 50% of revenue from the future Introduction of State Mineral Resources.

However, it excludes existing revenues from key manufacturers such as oil and boarding.

What is crucial, leaves unresolved details about the US share in the Fund and the conditions of common ownership, which will be determined in future negotiations.

While Ukraine has long relied on the US as its primary donor of military assistance, Trump dramatically moved Washington’s approach, launching direct conversations with Russia without including Ukraine or European allies.

In accordance with this background, Kiyiv is advocating for a wider relationship with the US that extends beyond military support.

Officials said that the Agreement approved the Ukrainian justice, economics and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with discussions undergoing Zelenskyy to visit the White House in the coming weeks to sign a Tump agreement.

“This will be an opportunity for the president to talk about the bigger picture. And then we will be able to think about the next steps afterwards,” the Ukrainian official of the Financial Times told.

Despite the finalization of the Agreement, the Government of Zelenskyy still has to ensure the approval of parliament, and it is expected that the opposition MPs will cause an agreement.

In the meantime, the secretary of the Karolina Leavitt White House emphasized the urgency of the administration, stating on Tuesday that “it is crucial that this job was signed”, although it did not give further updates about the negotiations.

This comes after Trump marked Zelensky a “dictator”, because the Parliament of Ukraine voted the extension of his presidency under martial arts.

The US president scored Zelensky last week because he did not hold elections during the war, calling him a “moderately successful comedian” who “talked about the USA he couldn’t win.”

In response, the Ukrainian leader shot, accusing Trump of living in a “Russian bubble of misinformation”.

But despite Trump’s attacks, Ukrainian parliament, Verkhovna’s work, firmly supported Zelensky, bringing a resolution today to hold it in power until a martial art is abolished.

Deputy work -e Yaroslav Zheleznyak said the election would be held only after the “comprehensive, just and sustainable peace” has been provided.

A total of 286 MPs supported the move, and none opposed or refrained.

The resolution emphasized that Zelensky was selected in free and honest elections and that neither the Ukrainian people nor Verkhovna’s work questioned his legitimacy.

She also noted that the election maintenance is currently impossible due to the constant invasion of Russia.

Zelensky, who vowed to deviate “immediately” in exchange for peace or membership in NATO, a Trump attack took off.

“I didn’t offend myself, but the dictator would be. I didn’t. I was legally elected president,” he said.

The two leaders had had a tumultuous relationship for years, which is from the day Zelensky was a TV comic book before entering politics.

Rift further deepened as the United States shocked the allies spared with Russia in the UN vote -a resolution that demands that Putin’s troops leave Ukraine.

The US administration joined Iran, North Korea, Belarus, Hungary and 13 others in contrast to the proposal, while China refrained.

Meanwhile, 93 countries – including the UK and most of the European nations – supported the invitation of Ukraine to indicate the “aggressor” to Russia.

President Trump also refused to call Vladimir Putin “Dictator”, despite citing the heroic Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week.

Speaking from an oval office, where he spoke to French leader Emmanuel Macron last night, Mr. Trump said: “I think the war could end soon – within a few weeks, if we are smart.

“If we are not smart, it will continue on.”

As the war on Monday reached its third anniversary, Ukraine is still defiant and despite Russian aggression and increasing insecurity due to American support under Trump’s guidance.
