An unknown lost pyramid

“Unknown: The Lost Pyramid” will have a mummy from 4,300 years ago, an old tomb and other surprises.

The executive producers of the project are Leslie Greif and Peter Isacksen. This Netflix documentary will follow the exploits of Dr. Zahi Hawass and Dr. Mostafa Waziri, two world-renowned Egyptologists in their search for ancient treasures in Egypt’s Saqqara desert outside of Cairo. While Dr. Zahi Hawass searches for the long-lost pyramid of an Egyptian ruler, his student and opponent, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, searches for an unlooted tomb in an old necropolis.

Netflix’s official summary of the title is as follows:

“In this documentary, Egyptian archaeologists dig through history, uncovering tombs and artifacts over 4,000 years old as they search for a buried pyramid.” Both teams race against time to see who can make the biggest discovery and leave their mark on history.”

The film begins with shots from a hunt and a scene of a 4300-year-old female mummy. The footage also shows the search for the entire papyrus, which is believed to be more valuable than gold. The trip is the first of its kind, and the teaser reveals that Egyptologists will show the audience the interior of the entire tomb.

The trailer opens with the following voiceover:

“A well-preserved tomb is like a time capsule, full of spells and curses that protect the dead.” We are the first to venture inside after thousands of years of silence.”
