Unni Rajan P Dev was born on Saturday, March 12, 1994 (27 years old in 2021) in Kochi, Kerala. He is the son of the famous late actor Rajan P Dev. He studied at Rajarshi Memorial High School. He completed his degree in Sound Engineering in Chennai. Unni loved acting since childhood and participated in many drama performances in school.

Unni Rajan P Dev started his acting career with the 2015 Malayalam film Aadu, written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thoma. In 2016, he acted in Appuram Bengal Ippuram Thiruvithamkoor (2016) and IDI: Inspector Dawood Ibrahim (2016). In 2017, Unni played the lead role in the film Kattu, directed by Arun Kumar Aravind. His performance in the film was highly appreciated by the audience and earned him great fame as a mainstream actor. In the second half of 2018, he acted in several films such as Aadu – Oru Bheegara Jeevi Aanu 2, Mohanlal, Mandharam, Shibu and Janamaithri.

On May 12, 2021, Unni’s wife Priyanka was found dead at her parents’ home in Vattappara village in Thiruvananthapuram. Initially, the local police filed a case for Priyanka’s unnatural death. Earlier, she had filed a domestic violence complaint against Unni at the Vattappara police station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Later, Priyanka’s brother filed a case against Unni, alleging that Priyanka was harassed by Unni and her in-laws. Soon after the investigation began, Unni was found to be infected with COVID-19. After 14 days of isolation and obtaining a negative COVID test report, Unni was arrested by the local police on May 25, 2021.

In an interview with a local newspaper, Priyanka’s mother said,
“I saw Priyanka being beaten while she was staying at our house with her sister. When I went to stop him, he punched me. She even sustained injuries due to the attack.”
