Urgent manhunt launched after woman in her 20s ‘raped in an alleyway’ in Stratford as cops share CCTV image

AN URGENT search has been launched after a woman in her 20s was allegedly raped in an alley in Stratford.

The Met Police have released CCTV images of a man seen nearby after a woman reported an assault in Medals Way.

The alleged assault was reported at 6.30pm on Thursday and the man is described as tall, slim and in his 20s.

CCTV footage of the man police want to find shows him wearing a black tracksuit and a beige cap with the hood pulled over his head.

He also has black facial hair and a bag.

The woman is supported by specially trained police officers, according to the police officers.

Detective Constable Ben Dailey said: “We carried out a number of inquiries including recovering CCTV from across the area.

“As a result, we are releasing two images of a man we would like to identify. I would ask anyone who recognizes him to come forward immediately.”

Anyone who can help the investigation team is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 6672/25 Jan. Information can also be shared over the Internet.
