After Tresean Gore’s wrist injury, Bo Nickal will face Val Woodburn at UFC 290.
Tresean Gore was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a wrist issue that may require surgery, according to Damon Martin of MMA Fighting. Nickal will now face Val Woodburn.
On his Instagram Stories, Gore revealed that he tore the scaphoid ligament in his wrist, which might sideline him for 6–12 months. He continued by saying that while he preferred to avoid surgery, it was a possibility.
He said he was “extremely bummed” and “extremely sad” to miss the fight, but that he would “still be champion and I will still prove I am better than this dude and I’m an elite fighter” as soon as he recovered from his illness.
Nickal, 27, has four first-round finishes in his perfect 4-0 mixed martial arts record. At UFC 285, he made a strong impression by quickly finishing Jamie Pickett with an arm-triangle choke.
