Valerie Bertinelli Looks Back at the ‘Pure Joy’ and ‘Fear’ of 2023: ‘Quite the Journey This Year’

Valerie Bertinelli looks back on her transformative year and shares her highlights.

After recapping the past 12 months in an Instagram Reel ahead of the Christmas holidays, the Food Network star posted another video montage to usher in the new year.

Similar to her first preview, her second series included footage from a trip to Amsterdam, clips from her son Wolfgang Van Halen’s performance with his band Mammoth WVH, and moments from Wolfgang’s wedding.

Bertinelli also interjected some fun clips from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour into the video, as well as some footage she shot on her trip to Paris. She even got a new tattoo.

“It’s been quite a journey this year! 🥹 🥰 You can see the relief and even a little fear in the opening shot (taken on January 1st, 2023) and the sheer joy that begins to take over as I find my way back to myself throughout the year. (I call my therapist for kindly walking me through all the uncomfortable emotional labor 😅),” Bertinelli captioned the post.

She continued: “I am so grateful for my family and friends, finally being able to spend free time with them has been a great source of comfort, joy, joy and healing. I love them all dearly. ✨♥️”

Bertinelli also thanked her “community here online” for sharing their stories and insights with her.

In October, Bertinelli helped Wolfgang celebrate his wedding to his longtime love, Andrea Allsop, at the couple’s home in Los Angeles.

Roker and Andraia, who have been together for eight years, tied the knot on October 15, which coincided with their first anniversary on October 15, 2015.

In November, Bertinelli marked one year since her divorce from ex-husband Tom Vitale was finalized.

Bertinelli celebrated the milestone by reposting her Instagram video from a year ago announcing that her divorce was official. In a November 2022 post, she shared a clip taken at the airport on her way to see her son and revealed the news.
