Vasundhara Raje was born on 8 March 1953 in Mumbai, Bombay State (now Mumbai, Maharashtra), India (68 years old as of 2021). She was the daughter of the late Jivaji Rao Scindia (Maharaja of Gwalior). She completed her primary education at Oratory Convent in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. For higher education, she studied at Sophia College, University of Mumbai, where she graduated in Economics and Political Science.
