Veda Krishnamurthy was born on 16 October 1992 in Kadur, Karnataka, India (Age 2018: 26). She started playing street cricket when she was only 3 years old. From a young age, she wanted to be a cricketer and play for her country one day. She received her primary education from Cambridge School, Bangalore, Karnataka. Her parents also enrolled her in karate classes, but she didn’t like karate. However, at the age of 12, she earned a black belt in karate. In 2005, at the age of 13, she began receiving cricket training at the Karnataka Cricket Academy. At the request of her coach, her father shifted her to Bangalore. Her coach Irrfan Seth noticed her talent and molded her into a very good cricketer. Veda also considers Irfan Sait as her first coach. Growing up, she used to watch Mithali Raj play and hoped to play with her one day. Veda has played WODI and WT20 cricket matches with Mithali Raj and they are good friends. For higher education, she attended Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, Karnataka, where she earned a degree in arts.

She is the third female cricketer from India to play in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). She signed a contract with the Hobart Hurricanes for the third season of the WBBL. She is the youngest player from Indian women to score 1,000 points in WODI. Veda Krishnamurthy was acquired by Gujarat Giants for Rs. The price of the 2024 Women’s Premier League auction held in Mumbai on December 9, 2023 was Rs 30 Lakhs.
