In December 2012, after receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Vedant was appointed deputy communications director to U.S. House of Representatives politician Mike Honda. In November 2015, he was promoted to communications director, serving until January 2017. In April 2017, Vedant joined the Democratic National Committee as regional press secretary; he held that position until August 2018. From August 2018 to April 2019, Vedant served as communications director for American Statesman Pramila Jayapal. In April 2019, Vedant was appointed as the key state communications director for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. In February 2020, he served as regional communications director for the event. On December 18, 2020, President Joe Biden appointed Vedant as the assistant private secretary to politician Pramila Jayapal. In the same month, Vedant joined as the senior spokesperson of the 59th Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC); he serves until January 2021. Vedant was appointed Assistant Press Secretary to the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden, at the White House in January 2021. He serves until June 2022. After serving as Assistant Press Secretary for 17 months, Vedant was promoted to Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department.
