Vera Wang, 74, Wows in Abs-Baring Gown and Huge Bow for NYE Party with Her Daughter Jo: ‘Smiling Away’

Vera Wang welcomes 2024 in style!

On Tuesday, the 74-year-old fashion designer shared the hottest photos from the glamorous New Year’s Eve bash she hosted in Miami – including her daring, stomach-baring party look.

Wang posed in front of a large dining table decorated with colorful balloons, wearing a long black halter dress and a silver T-shirt. The dress, which had open sides that showed off her abs and shoulders, is from her Haute Fashion collection.

The wedding legend completed her New Year’s look with a large black hair bow, which she wore in a sleek, straight style.

Her photo carousel also included a close-up look at her tablescape, where festive noisemakers and party blowers were left with each setting. She also shared an aerial view of the soaring party room with its dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows.

“Celebrating the New Year…Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!!! 🥂🥂🥂,” Wang wrote in the caption, tagging makeup artist Marla Belt and hairstylist Carla Nicole.

In another post, Wang shared two photos of her and her 30-year-old daughter, Josephine “Jo” Becker, posing together holding lit sprinklers. Jo teamed up with her dapper mum in a black off-the-shoulder miniskirt and silver platform open-toe heels.

“I’m trying hard not to burn out… Jo and I are leaving with a smile… into the New Year!!! 🔥🎈💥❤️,” Wang wrote.

A third post showed Wang surveying a table covered in colorful cakes and bottles of Vera Wang Party prosecco. “Best part of the night ….. 🥂🍾 Well, 💥🧨💥 were pretty awesome too!!” she joked.

After a night of revelry to close out 2023, the fashion expert gave a glimpse into the relaxed way she started the new year – basking in the Florida sun. She posted a series of photos of herself sitting outside on a deck chair, wearing denim, an open white button-down shirt and high-top platform sneakers.

Wang had an equally glamorous Christmas. She and Jo, along with older daughter Cecilia Becker, 33, donned matching metallic slip dresses for the occasion — no flannel PJs for this high-fashion family!

She shared photos of the trio posing together in shimmering teal designs. Cecilia and Jo – who are adopted and whom Wang shares with her ex-husband Arthur Becker – added Santa hats to their looks, while the designer wore sparkling jewelery from her LOVE collection with Zales.

“Me and my girls!!!” Wang captioned the photos. “So happy together.”

In April 2023, Wang spoke to PEOPLE about the 2020 moment she went viral after posting a photo showing off her toned abs in a bright orange sports bra and white denim shorts at age 70. She admitted that she “didn’t quite understand” why people were so fascinated by her clothes.

“I guess only people have an idea of what 70 looks like today,” she told PEOPLE. “I have so many friends who are 65 to 70 years old who look fantastic. But hopefully, I have to say, it’s a good thing. I hope women feel more comfortable with themselves or have confidence, or there are many definitions of what a woman can be.”
