Vikas Vaibhav was born on Wednesday, November 21, 1979 in Barauni, Bihar (age 43; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Scorpio. Vaibhav started his career in December 2003 as Assistant Superintendent of Police (Probation), SVPNPA, Hyderabad. In January 2005, he became the Assistant Superintendent of Police (Probationer), Bhagalpur. He has also served in Aurangabad (September 2005), Danapur (December 2005), Patna (March 2006), Baghar (December 2006), Rohtas ( August 2008), Darbhanga (February 2011) and Purnea (September) as Assistant Inspector General of Police. 2015). In 2018, when he was serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bhagalpur, he wanted to work towards bridging the gap between the police and the public, for which he started ‘Lok Samvad’.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar criticized Vaibhav’s behavior and said:
