He’s comfortable in whatever he wears, and he can wear a suit with just as much style and elegance as he does casual wear. Whatever he wears, it automatically becomes ‘fashionable’. “
- In an interview, he also talked about how he felt when he got the opportunity to dress Amitabh Bachchan. He said,
I think the only time I felt nervous was when I dressed Mr. Bachchan. That was the moment I realized I was really lucky and that I was doing the right things. I don’t think there’s anyone else like him in the industry. It was so special to work with him. “
- In an interview, when he was asked how he transitioned his career from design to filmmaking, he said:
It (the director) was not a deliberate attempt. I have been wanting to direct a film for the past 12-13 years. It took me a long time to write about this topic. Directing a film is like captaining a ship. I was a technician behind the scenes, involved in the costume department. But storytelling is the ultimate goal. I won’t do a remake because I want to develop my own script. But I don’t think I could count horror, sex, or comedy as a genre. All I could do was a romance drama or a social drama, both genres I know I enjoy. Also, when I write the second film, I won’t decide on the language – but if not now, then eventually I will make a Hindi film. This is something I know for sure. “
- He also produced a Hindi film “Nia” starring Bipasha Basu. The film was never released. In an interview, he talked about the film and said:
Production costs are high. I wanted to shoot in London but the budget wouldn’t allow it. I also realize that this is not the right time to publish a story like this. But I didn’t let those limitations get to me. I’ve been wanting to make a movie for 13 years. “
- According to him, his movie Please Smile is a true story of his mother’s life.
- In 2016, he organized an event called ‘Adhvan’, marking the completion of Viram’s 25 years in the fashion industry.
- In an interview, he gave advice to young designers and said,
In my opinion, there is no one formula to follow for success. The reason is that if a+b=c, then everyone can follow it up to T and be successful. I learned that success will eventually come, all you need is to be passionate about what you do. Work hard, know how to market yourself, and be in the right place at the right time. “
- In 2018, a fashion show at the IIFA Awards was organized by e-commerce fashion Myntra and Vikram designed the costumes.
