Profession
After Vinay progressed in kabaddi, he joined Mahesh Dayanand University in Rohtak, Haryana. He became a regular player in the college kabaddi team and participated in national competitions. He was the first-choice raider in the All India Inter-University Kabaddi Championship 2019-20 in Mangalore and contributed 54 points to lead the team to victory. He became the top scorer in the tournament.
Professional Kabaddi League
Vinay is part of the new young players program of the Professional Kabaddi League (PKL). In an interview, when talking about his selection by PKL team Haryana Steelers, he said:
When I was selected for the PKL, I was playing for the junior national team and I was more focused on my studies. I performed well in the tryouts and got a chance to attend training camp and eventually the NYP program. Within two months, the Steelers absorbed me. ”
In 2019, he joined Haryana Steelers for Rs 7.26 lakh through the PKL Season 7 auction. He made his debut against Puneri Paltan on 22 July 2019 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad and played in all 23 games that season. In his debut season, Vinay scored 125 raid points and was among the top 15 raiders along with big names like Pawan Sehrawat, Pardeep Narwal, Siddharth Desai and Deepak Niwas Hooda. At the end of Pro Kabaddi 2019, Vinay scored 6 Super Raids, 3 Super 10s and 4 tackle points.
In the 8th season of PKL, he was retained by Haryana Steelers for Rs 25 lakh. In Season 8, he played in 15 games and scored 51 raid points in 96 raids. In 2022, he was acquired again by Haryana Steelers for Rs 2.5 million in the 9th season of PKL. During the competition, he participated in 15 games, performed a total of 53 raids, and scored 33 raid points. He was retained by Haryana Steelers in 2023 during the 10th season of PKL.
