Vince Vaughn's 2 Kids: All About Locklyn and Vernon

Vince Vaughn is proud of his two children: Locklyn and Vernon.

The IF voice actor said he didn’t feel ready to become a father until he got engaged to now-wife Kyla Weber in 2009, telling PEOPLE that was “the first time I really wanted to have kids.”

After their daughter Locklyn was born the following year, Vaughn made it clear that he was more than happy with his new role in life. He told CTV News that parenthood has given him “a different purpose.”

“I feel so grateful,” said the People’s Choice Award winner. “You know, my wife is so great. But I have to tell you. As soon as they came out, so beautiful and so sweet – I was so glad they were all healthy.”

Just before welcoming Vernon in 2013, Vaughn spoke about his love for fatherhood. “All the kids bring their own joy, it’s a lot of fun,” he said Hey! News. “There is nothing more fun than laughing and playing with children.”

Two years later, Vaughn celebrated a hand and foot print ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theater with his wife and children by his side. He has also been spotted bringing Locklyn and Vernon to Disneyland and NBA games.

Vaughn and Weber welcomed their daughter, Locklyn Kyla Vaughn, on December 18, 2010.

The name of their first born is based on the heritage of Weber’s mother. “My wife’s mom is from Scotland, so Locklyn is from there,” Vaughn said Metro in 2014.

When she was younger, Locklyn was friends with Owen Wilson’s son, Ford. The couple, who are only a month apart in age, visited their dads while filming Internship 2012 and were spotted spending time together on set.

As a child, Locklyn was a huge Disney fan Frozen the movie, specifically the character of Elsa. In the 2015 interview The Ellen DeGeneres ShowVaughn said she was obsessed with playing the animated princess.

“[Elsa] is the one that my daughter really idolizes, she doesn’t get too close to anyone, because she will hurt them, she will freeze them and she will cause them pain, so she has to close,” he said, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Vaughn added that he always agreed with her, joking, “I wonder what a child psychologist would say about this.”

Like his father, Locklyn loves comedy: In a 2020 interview Living with Kelly and Ryanthe Uninvited guests at weddings the star said his daughter enjoyed comedy and loved to joke around. He revealed that the only film of his that both children had seen was border guard, and they were fans.

Locklyn is also interested in sports. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show In 2020, Vaughn shared that his older child played football on a competitive team. Three years later, the pair were photographed sharing a sweet father-daughter moment at an NBA game.

Vaughn and Weber welcomed their son, Vernon Lindsay Vaughn, on August 7, 2013 — named after his paternal grandfather.

Vernon became interested in something that many kids don’t like: horror movies. In the interview for 2020 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonVaughn said his son “has a real appetite for dangerous things.”

He added: “He’s 7 years old and I watched the original Dirty Harry with him. I don’t know how this works, but I did it.”

Interruption The actor joked again about Vernon’s love of horror movies during an appearance at the 2020 The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying, “It’s not clear what happened, but he likes things that scare him. I try to prevent it, but I let him watch some things.”

During the same appearance, Vaughn also revealed that Vernon was good at sharing. “My son is very sweet, very funny,” said the producer. “He likes to share, which is something you would consider a good trait in a child.”

The Teen Choice Award winner explained that even when Vernon got new toys, he would share them with others. “When friends come over, it’s like they’re guests at the Oscars,” Vaughn joked. “They leave with a bag of stuff, like new toys that were supposed to be his stuff, and he says, ‘no, that’s fine.’ ”

Like his sister, Vernon is also into sports. During the interview for 2021 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonVaughn talked about how he missed the Kentucky Derby because he was taking his kids to various baseball and football games.

“There was travel involved,” he said. “For some reason, you have to travel 35 minutes to play with other 9-year-olds. It’s a confusing process.”

“I don’t understand, but I’m on the train and it doesn’t stop,” he continued. “Everything is complicated. But I’m glad we’re playing. I’m thankful the kids are back in the sport — so no complaints.”
