He played the role of a police chief in the 2000 film “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani”. In 2006, he played the role of Dilawar Khan in the film “Umrao Jaan”. He received huge acclaim for his role as the captain of Pakistan in the 2014 film Kya Dilli Kya Lahore.

- He wanted to be an actor since he was a child.
- He revealed in an interview that after completing his studies in Meerut, his parents sent him to Prayagraj to prepare for the IAS exam, but there he started working in theater and eventually got a chance to work in the TV series Fauji.
- He was away from the television industry for nearly two decades after appearing in the TV series “Indradhanush” in 1989. However, he returned to television in 2010 with the TV series “Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?” On Star Plus.
- During the filming of the film No Problem (2010), the actor was burned by fire while filming an action scene in the sea. At first, staff thought it was part of the scene, but later realized it was an accident. The actor suffered multiple burns on his legs due to the fire.
- In 2010, Pradhan met with another mishap while shooting for the climax scene of the film Rakta Charitra, in which he was supposed to be shot dead. The explosion during filming was so powerful that he suffered a large gash on his jaw that required surgery to repair.
