From January 1990 to January 1997, he served as Managing Partner at PR Mehra & Co. Delhi. In January 1997, he became a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC), a private company. While there, he led the M&A tax practice. He was also elected to the PwC Board of Directors and the India Tax Leadership Team. He worked there until March 2016. In May 2017, he was appointed as an independent director of Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd. As an independent director, he has worked with Embassy Office Park Management Services Pvt Ltd, DLF Limited, HT Media Ltd, Hero Future Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. In 2017, he became non-executive chairman of Religare Health Trust. He is also the founder of private company Mindshare. He has been appointed as a director of about 17 companies, including Vivek Mehra LLP, Havells India Limited, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, DLF Assets Limited, House of Masaba Lifestyle Private Limited, Bharat Hotels Limited and Coopers and Lybrand (India) Private Limited.
