Highlights of the 2023 VMAs:

Taylor Swift was nominated for 11 categories at the 2023 VMAs. She ended up winning 9 of them, the most for the night. This makes Swift the second most awarded artist in VMA history. Swift has 23 total wins and is second only to Beyonce, who has 30 total wins.

And not only that, she is the first artist in history to win consecutive awards in the “Video of the Year” category. She won four of them.

Moreover, she also set the record for winning the most awards in one night (9), coming in second only to Peter Gabriel who won 10 in 1987.

The record-breaking K-Pop girl group, Blackpink, also made history by becoming the first girl group in 24 years to win the ‘Best Group’ award.

A member of one of the biggest boy bands in the world, BTS’s Jungkook aka JK won the ‘Song of the Summer’ and became the first Korean soloist to win the award.
