- Dance is her passion and it is her dance that provides the foundation for her performances. She played a dancer in the Telugu film Rojulu Marayi (1955).
- During the success party of ‘Rojulu Maraayi’, Guru Dutt noticed Waheeda and decided to train her. Guru Dutt brought her to Bombay and cast her as a “vampire” in his production CID (1956).
