The Washington Commanders last game turned out to be a double celebration for safety Jeremy Reaves!
The NFL star, 28, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Mikaela Worley on the sidelines just moments after the Commanders beat the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in overtime to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday, Dec. 29.
In a video of the proposal shared on Instagram by the NFL’s official account, Reaves can be seen on one knee with an open ring box while Worley crouches in shock with his hands over his mouth.
Worley, a physician’s assistant and University of Louisiana Monroe volleyball student, can then be seen saying “I do” and nodding before the two share an emotional hug.
Clearly showing his excitement, Reaves, who has played for the Commanders since 2018, then let out a loud whoop as he pointed to the cheering crowd and locked lips with Worley.

“An objection after the clinch! A moment he will never forget 💍🥹,” the NFL captioned a joint Instagram post with Reaves.
Speaking after the proposal, Reaves revealed that the moment hinged on the Commanders winning the game.
“I hate losing, so there’s no way I could have done it in the right spirit after losing,” Reaves told The Associated Press. “That thing put a hole in my pocket.”

“She deserved it. I can’t say enough about her,” Reaves added of Worley. “When I was at my lowest last year, she was there to pick me up every day. She appeared. That’s my best friend. He’s been my best friend since high school.”
“You can tell a lot about someone when they’re going through their worst and how they deal with it,” Reaves continued. “I was going through the worst last year when I got an ACL (torn). I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t be my own man, and she was a crutch when I couldn’t do it myself.”

Reaves also raved about his bride-to-be in a Dec. 30 Instagram post, writing, “A year ago I was at my lowest. A year later, you’ve helped me get back to my best! Every time life gets me down, you built me right back and you pumped life into me!You carried the weight when I couldn’t during some rough days (that whole PA school definitely came in handy lol!) God doesn’t make mistakes and gave you to me when I needed the Most! 8+ years of friendship, I meant a lifetime when I said 5life!
