Watch Joanna Gaines Take on Son Crew’s Obstacle Course Challenge: ‘Made It Through’

Joanne Gaines’ 5-year-old son is keeping her on her toes!

The Magnolia mogul, 45, recently uploaded a hilarious video to Instagram of herself trying to complete a living room obstacle course built by her son Crew.

The clip began with a view of Crew walking on three chairs. After standing on top of the brown chair, he used the living room table to reach the sofa. A pillow bridge connected him to the other side of the table, which he walked on to reach the end of the path.

Once it was the reality TV personality’s turn to take the course, she counted the steps she needed to take and smiled widely after completing it. She added in the caption: “Got Crew’s morning obstacle challenge in record time (for my age) 😅.”

The proud mom shares son Crew with husband Chip Gaines. The two are also parents to sons Drake (18), Duke (15) and daughters Ella (17) and Emma (13).

Besides being the youngest, Crew also has a curious mind. During this year’s 4th of July holiday, his mom shared a sweet photo on Instagram of him making a batch of cake pops. The video shows Crew dipping a cookie into a bright red chocolate candy coating. In the caption she wrote “Test Kitchen Camp with Crew.”

In August, Crew accompanied his mother to harvest 10 gallons of honey from bees on their property in Waco, Texas. An Instagram video showed the little one inspecting the bees and helping his mom through the process.

During an interview with PEOPLE in November, the mom of five opened up about the importance of protecting her children’s passions.

“Obviously at some point it would be so much fun to have one or two of our kids work with us, but that’s definitely not what we say out loud to them. Chip is really good at saying, ‘You need your own identity . . . When you’re done with college, go do some things yourself. Learn some things. And then if you want to come back years later and teach us, we’re here,'” she explained.

She told PEOPLE that having children of different ages gives her and her husband, 49, “perspective.”

“The greatest gift when a kid goes to college and a five-year-old is that perspective. It doesn’t last forever. We don’t want to waste these moments,” she said.
