Watch Matthew McConaughey Show Off His Snoop Dogg-Gifted Death Row Chain

Matthew McConaughey may be Snoop Dogg’s luckiest friend right now.

The Oscar-winning actor, 54, received a fancy new gift from the hip-hop icon, 52, in the form of a glittering Death Row chain, which the ex proudly showed off in an Instagram video on Friday.

“Sniffed,” McConaughey captioned the clip — the soundtrack to Snoop’s classic “Who Am I (What’s My Name?)” — that shows him flexing his new piece of jewelry for his older son, Levi. The amazed 15-year-old’s jaw drops as he admires his father’s new glow, saying: “Oh my God.”

“Snoop Dogg gave it to me,” McConaughey said with a big smile as he high-fived his son.

The video, also shared on Snoop’s page, is then shown in close-up Dallas Buyers Club star’s Death Row gold pendant as he stands in front of the West Coast legend Doggy style album cover. He says, “Snoop, I mean do you read my mail or do I read yours?”

Snoop was signed to Death Row Records in the ’90s — when it also featured legendary rap artists like Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre and Nate Dogg — before the hip-hop mogul took ownership in 2022. He bought the iconic label from MNRK Music Group after co-founder Suge Knight lost the imprint in 2006 following bankruptcy, NPR reported.

“I didn’t actually speak another word of English,” he added, looking at Snoop. “You said I rapped a lot…”
