Armed with a glass of red wine and a giant baguette, Peyton Manning is ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 47-year-old former NFL star and his selection of famous French delicacies have teamed up with NBC Universal to promote coverage of the 2024 Olympics, which begin July 26 in Paris, France.
As Manning appears on a giant baguette to open the spot, he welcomes viewers to Paris, “home of French bread, wine, and now the Olympics,” he announces.
The spot then takes Manning into a conference room, where the beloved athlete is trying to sell a table of marketing executives on his carb-laden idea of riding a flying baguette to promote the games.
The big flying baguette balloon doesn’t go down well with the fictional marketing team, though, and Manning’s on-site appearance ends with him saying, “Remind me never to throw bread stuff away again,” in a post-meeting phone call.
Manning tells PEOPLE he’s “excited” about the Paris Olympics.
“I’ve always been a big fan of the Olympics and we’re rooting hard for Team USA competing against the best in the world.”

The 2024 Games will be the third time Paris has hosted the Olympic Games, following those in 1900 and 1924. This mostly connects the city with London as the host of the Summer Games.

Manning’s NBC promotion comes during the same week as another hilarious campaign starring the former football player.
For the promotion of the third season of the series ManningCast, along with his brother Eli, Mannings auditioned for the third hosting spot on his popular series, facing celebrities like DJ Khaled and Lil Wayne and star athletes like Mike Tyson and LSU’s Olivia Dunne.

When fictional auditions go badly, Tom Brady (who will experience his first post-retirement NFL season this year) is shown sitting in the audition waiting room with an adorable golden retriever.
“No, I didn’t get it ManningCast job,” Brady, 45, says during a phone call before the ominous music kicks in. “I think I’m just going to go back and play football again.”
