Wendy’s has sweet news for Frosty fans.
The chain’s favorite dessert flavor is back after being replaced by the limited-time Salted Caramel Frosty.
The fast food restaurant announced the return of the vanilla Frosty on Monday, January 13, but with an ominous message about its longevity. A statement from Wendy’s advises customers to grab the dessert “before it’s gone.” “Who knows what new Frosty flavor innovations are planned for 2025…” the cryptic message continued.
Vanilla Frosty is regularly featured on Wendy’s menus and replaced by limited-time flavors. Pineapple under the icy sea, a Sponge Bob Skockani-inspired flavor, triple berry Frosty and orange dreamsicle Frosty took turns in the spotlight in 2024.
Along with the Jan. 13 flavor update, Wendy’s highlighted a “hack” to score free treats for the comeback: the Frosty Key Tag.

The Frosty Key Tag is a $3 key that entitles customers to one free Jr. Frosty with every visit throughout 2025. A physical or digital key fob, available for purchase through February 15, allows guests to receive a free gift with every purchase. in previous years when the key tag unlocked one free Frosty each day.
The free Frosty offer begins when guests receive the tag and can be redeemed until December 31, 2025.
In stores and in the app, fans can add digital or physical tags when ordering in the “Give Something Back” menu category. Customers can also purchase physical key tags in bulk from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption website. In both cases, Wendy’s donates 90% of each tag sold to an adoption foundation.
Wendy’s customers with a savory craving can score a 2-for-$7 deal on four fan-favorite items through March 2. The offer is valid for a classic or spicy chicken sandwich, Dave’s Single and crispy or spicy chicken nuggets of 10 pieces.
Customers can claim the offer in stores across the country or through the app. Fans just need to check out the “Meal Deals” section of the Wendy’s app, where they can choose their two menu items.
