Jude Walton, former police commissioner and head of employee experience for Avalon Housing, has passed away. When police went to the home of native Ann Arbor for a welfare check, they discovered her body. Her death occurred when she was 51 years old. Her death is currently being investigated as a homicide. Police were called to Jude Walton’s home on Chapin Street at 1:30 p.m. Thursday after her employer informed her she was not at work. She was last seen last night by a neighbor at 8pm

Interim Sheriff Ann Arbor Aimee Metzer said in a press release that there were “clear indications that this was a homicide.” According to police, the suspect entered the house through the back window. Metzer stated:

“Most of the house looks normal, with no signs of much being taken or damaged.”

Walton has been called a “pillar of the community” because of his charitable work and assistance to the homeless. At the time of writing, the official cause of death has yet to be announced. According to a police official, there were “obvious signs of trauma” on her body. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Jude Walton arrived in Ann Arbor from London more than two decades ago. According to M Live, she grew up right above her parents’ bar in North London. She started working with Avalon Housing in December 2008. According to her LinkedIn page, she was appointed human resources and administrative director. She had spent the previous 14 years with the group Ann Arbor. The nonprofit has honored its former employee on its official Facebook page. They wrote about her character on the Internet:

“Jude is a wonderful, caring, kind, funny, talented, intelligent, humble and insightful person. She’s the person we all turn to when we’re having a hard time at work. It’s hard. to imagine Avalon without her. We mourn this incalculable loss.”

Jude Walton loves photography and in her spare time shoots amateurs. At the time of writing, there have been no arrests related to Jude Walton’s death.
