OJ Simpson was the father of five children before his death at the age of 76.

The former NFL player shared three children, Arnelle, Jason and Aaren, with his first wife, Marguerite Whitley, and two children, Sydney and Justin, with his second wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. Aaren died a month before her second birthday after drowning in the family pool.

The Simpson family was thrust into the spotlight after the murders of Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in June 1994. On April 10, 2024, Simpson died at the age of 76 from metastatic prostate cancer. His family announced the news on his x (formerly known as Twitter) account in the statement.

“On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you respect their wishes for privacy and grace,” they said. wrote.

Simpson’s eldest daughter was born on December 4, 1968, when the football player was 21 years old. Arnelle testified at his trial in 1994 where he was accused of murdering his second wife, Nicole. She claimed that her father was “emotional”, “frantic” and “out of control” when he learned of her death, reports CNN.

Arnelle has remained a vocal supporter of her father, speaking out again during his 2017 parole hearing following his prison sentence for an armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel in 2007. At the time, she asked for her dad’s release so her family could “go forward”.

Simpson and Whitley’s second child, Jason, was born in 1970. Jason was by his father’s side during important moments in his career, including when he was inducted into the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame at Rich Stadium in 1980.

He also attended the premiere of the film The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult along with his father, Nicole and two younger siblings three months before Nicole’s murder.

After the infamous police chase in which authorities followed a white Ford Bronco containing Simpson and his friend and former teammate Al Cowlings, Jason met his father at his home in Brentwood and tried to talk to him. The police then handcuffed Jason and took him back to the house.

According to Los Angeles Timesas of 2016, Jason lived a private life as a chef in a restaurant in Atlanta, St. Cecilia.

Aaron Simpson

Simpson and Whitley had their third child, daughter Aaren, in 1977. Just a month before his second birthday, Aaren tragically drowned in a swimming pool. Simpson has rarely discussed the incident publicly.

Sydney, OJ and Nicole’s first child together, was born on October 17, 1985. She was only 8 years old when her mother died and was raised by her aunt and Nicole’s sister, Tanya Brown, after Nicole’s death.

Sydney and Justin moved to Florida in 2000, six years after their mother’s death, and have lived in relative anonymity ever since. Sydney graduated from Boston University with a BA in Sociology in 2010 and spent some time in Atlanta before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida.

Since April 2016, Sydney has been involved in real estate as the owner of multiple properties in Florida that she oversees, according to Tampa Bay Times.

Days after Simpson’s death in April 2024, David Brobeck, Justin’s best man, told PEOPLE that he and Sydney had found a “good life” in the years since their mother was killed. Sydney and Justin often spent time with Brobeck and his family during the trial, and he said they “received tremendous love and attention and support” from the community during that time.

“They have grown up, now they have their own families and they are doing very well,” he said. “They are solid people and parents and we just wish them the best and give them lots of love.”
